I agree...

In my opinion, the song is very very listenable and it did not tire me at all... but it does seem like you used exactly the same notes on all synths.... only the cello-ish sound is doing the bass for it... other than that, the rest are synths doing the same notes...

It could use some more work, some more harmonies, maybe some synths to do different tunes in second voices for example... It could become awesome.

Catboi responds:

Cool, yeah I was a bit lazy with this one. I may try and edit it and upload a new version. :D Thanks for the review.

great

Even though it's repetitive, it's not tiresome at all, I find this minimalist and very very soothing... good job

landscapers1 responds:

imo the success of this song is the piano I did.

great track~

Well.. I was going to make a more complete review but adompeace said most of it already :)... Then again, this is a great track, but I've liked others better.

I think I understand the feeling, I've released tracks myself which I've really enjoyed making and got the feeling that something was acomplished, something new, something improved, kinda hard to explain, but my only guess is that sometimes this things can only be felt by the composer/producer himself or someone really really in touch with his work (or even his feelings), so I would get feedback like "yeah it's cool... but your track *title_here* is still my fav from you...", in the end the taste of the listener plays a bigger role for feedback :).

The piano intro lacks something, I am not sure what exactly, I find it too simplistic but that my have been your purpose. The synth was just great IMO, and I totally agree that this track deserved a more energetic climax :).

Cheers!

DJOrsa responds:

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head, man.
I think I made this song more for me than my listeners, I suppose. :p

Once I get situated again, I'll start looking at this song and see if I can improve it some.

Thanks a lot for this review. :D

Great track

Man, what sample package are you using for your strings?, I just loved them.

very interesting

that's one of my favorite anime themes... pretty well used there...

Sci-Fi responds:

thanks i take that extremely well sense its so old!!! chobits is awesome.

nice :)

it sounds kinda like industrial to me... catchy tune, nice beat. Also... I find the fact that God gave you the inspiration to compose for a fight between humans and... machines from underground.... odd xD... Why were there machines in the center of the earth!?? xD

Quite original actually xD... nice summary, nice tune.

Negown responds:

Genre changed, story update.... haha
Haha, so I got a little creative with the story. I could not help myself.

Thank you THANK YOU for the review. I extremely appreciate it!

yup...

... ambient stuff is your thing... I've been checking your tracks and I've liked your techno songs, but I've loved the ambient tracks, I just like moody song that can easily take some place out of here... keep the good work :D

DJOrsa responds:

Thanks, review some of my other stuff. I wanna know what you think! :D

nice!

Very good... I am just wondering... wut kind of jazz os this?... solos don't stick to the chords played by the piano on the background... it sounds kinda acid jazz?... free jazz?... the organ sounds as if the player is improvising letting himself get away from the melody, then letting the horns get the melody back :P...

If I am correct, you stick to only 2 chords the whole song... maybe adding a couple more (and some of them with their solos) would make the song richer... 'tis wut I would do :D.... I loved the track anyway... I dig the drum beat

adompeace responds:

I'm not sure what kind of jazz this is. I want to call it fusion but it's not rock enough. It's just jazz! lol

Yeah, only two chords. But my intention was to put focus on the rhythm of everything going on since the rhythms are programmatic, as I explain in the description.

Glad you liked it!

well well...

... 1:20 of pads and drops does not sound that tiring anymore when you have a longer main melody afterwards... now it's a long intro :) and fits the mood...

You see, in the former track, the piano kinda sounded like the main melody but it lasted very few seconds so it was kinda annoying in the "needs more melody" sense... this extended version does have more "form", so to say... :)

Good Job :)

LavitzSlambert responds:

yayz ^^ thank you. you make my day! ^^
I'll try not to make the same mistake in the future =P

great

great stuff... rhode-ish/bell-ish keybs with reverb and delay always do the trick for spacy tunes ;)... plus your slow beat, it's just great.. 10/10 5/5 Faved :D

tijnn responds:

Woot, thanks for another kind review! And i must say yeah, sine shapes are the shit for ambient no matter what you do with it hehe.

Thanks!
